2 Map Out a Plan

Mapping out a plan begins with the occupational therapist facilitating a discussion with the client about their strengths and skills related to the chosen activity, including any previous experience as a participant or as a spectator.

Focus on the Environment

For each of the client’s chosen goals, the occupational therapist will work with them to develop an environment-based plan for improving their participation. For example, the occupational therapist could ask the client if they know any or all of the rules and if there are parts of the activity that the client already feels confident doing.
